Criminal Minds Reboot is happening! The project has been on the go for quite some time. The announcement of its coming to the world first came out in 2021. Since then, the fans have been eager to learn more about it.
However, a tweet by Paget Brewster, the actress who portrays Emily Prentiss made fans doubt that the reboot would actually happen. In her post, Paget Brewster assured viewers that the reboot was dead.
The situation has changed. It appears that Tanya Gills, Chief Programming Officer at ViacomCBS Streaming has confirmed that Criminal Minds Reboot is in the works. In the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour she talked to certain reporters about the show telling them:
“We are currently working on Criminal Minds. We’ll share more in the near future but it’s active and healthy.”
Following the incident and Tanya’s comments, Paget took to Twitter to say she was wrong and was extremely happy with the reboot was actually happening. The tweet read “When you are wrong, it feels just right…I I LOVE IT!”
Deadline for release of Criminal Minds reboot
The details are still being worked out on the rebooted series. So, a formal release date hasn’t been revealed at the moment. According to our sources, it’s possible that the Criminal Minds reboot might release at the earliest before the closing of 2022. However, a more realistic release timeframe could be in the first quarter of 2023.
In the meantime, fans can watch the fifteen episodes from Criminal Minds on Paramount+. You can also catch all 12 episodes on Netflix and seasons 13 through 15 via Hulu. Whatever the case, we’re sure that it will be fun to travel back in time watching cases unfold after cases.

Criminal Minds Reboot is going to be different from the previous series. It is also expected to focus on investigating crimes and locating criminals. However, in the reboot the first season, it is expected be focused on a single case , not multiple ones as in the previous seasons.

The Paramount+ team Paramount+ is planning to include a mix of former as well as new actors to the reboot. As of now there has been no sign-off. signed an agreement for the reboot. This includes Paramount+ trying to get all the cast members that were alive during the finale of season 15. Additionally the cast we have listed above, who are ready to sign contracts will be in the final stages once the show’s creator who is the show’s creator Criminal Minds, Erica Messer agrees to the contract and joins the reboot. Everyone around her knows that, without her, the show could collapse. The newly cast for the reboot is not being released. It seems that the new cast will be officially announced once Erica as well as the former cast members sign their contracts.
